COMMUNION RETURNS TO THE USUAL TIME

Starting this weekend, May 8th - 9th, we are resuming the usual procedure for Holy Communion. Starting this weekend we receive Holy Communion after the “Lamb of God”.

After receiving Holy Communion, please return to your seat for Quiet Prayer, The Prayer After Communion, Final Blessing, Closing Hymn and Dismissal.

More good news... we will resume using the Missalettes on May 29, 2021.

POTS’ Virtual Benefit, Open Door, Open Heart

On Wednesday, May 26^th at 7 pm, Part of the Solution (POTS) will hold its Spring Gala virtually and honor Chris Bean and Maureen Gomez for their dedication to service, community, and our neighbors most in need.

The POTS Founders Award for Distinguished Service will be presented to:

Chris Bean, who as POTS Executive Director, oversaw tremendous growth in the number and quality of POTS services to the community.

Maureen Gomez, who over many years has been the driver and spirit behind the POTS Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, will be presented with

The POTS Heart of Gold Award.

• Regular Registration- April 17- May 14
• Late Registration- May 14 - June 11 (a $50.00 late fee will apply)
Catechists and other volunteers are needed! If you would like to be a catechist or a hallway volunteer please indicate so on your registration. Catechists will receive a full-tuition discount. Co-catechists and other volunteers will receive a 50% discount. Please consider this a meaningful and spiritually fulfilling way to serve our Resurrection Parish.

Mother's Day Spiritual Bouquet

Mass Remembrance

Please submit the Mothers Day Remembrance envelopes in the first collection today. A novena of Masses will be celebrated for the names submitted. Please list names of Mothers on the top front of the envelopes. The suggested donation is $20. It is important to remember and honor our Mothers at Mass.

Gospel: John 15:9-17
Jesus asks His disciples to live on in His love and to “Love one another as I have loved you.” He explains that He chose them to follow Him, and promises if they keep His commandments they will have anything that they ask for in His name.

TRAINING FOR NEW ALTAR SERVERS

A NEW CLASS OF ALTAR SERVERS HAS BEGUN. ANY BOY OR GIRL IN GRADES 4 - 8 WHO IS INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN ALTAR SERVER WILL NEED TO ATTEND TWO ONE-HOUR TRAINING SESSIONS.

1. There is ample room for social distancing seating in our church. The church was sanitized and deep cleaned on Friday. The bathrooms are cleaned between each mass.

2. Masks that cover both NOSE and MOUTH should be worn at all times in Church. This is the correct way to wear a mask as per NYS Dept. of Health/CDC recommendations. Extra masks and hand sanitizers (complimentary) are available at the Boston Post Road entrance.

3. Verizon has finally completed the work to upgrade our internet service for live streaming. It took longer than expected and we are grateful for your patience. Hopefully, this will solve any issue we had with live streaming.

4. We pray for the sick of our parish, especially FR. THOMAS LYNCH and FOR ALL THOSE SUFFERING FROM THE VIRUS.

5. We pray for the deceased of our parish, especially MARIA COSTA,

JAMES WELSH, CAROLINE DAVIS, ELLEN O'NEAL WALSH, and THE VICTIMS OF THE VIRUS.

6. USHERS are NEEDED. All clergy are healthy. The priest will be wearing a mask during Communion time. Priests sanitize their hands before and after Holy Communion. Communion will be distributed on the hand only.

8. You may tune in to our live stream masses. Live stream masses will be: Saturday, May 8th at 5:00 pm and Saturday, May 9th at 10:00 am and 11:15 am.

DIAPER AND BABY ITEMS COLLECTION TODAY

May is the month of Mary and this year we are celebrating the Blessed Mother Mary and all mothers by reaching out to young mothers in need.

This weekend, Mother’s Day weekend, May 8^th and 9^th, the Outreach Committee will be collecting boxes of diapers, baby wipes, and new baby clothes/blankets, etc. in St. Joseph’s chapel at the front of the church.

Please donate diapers of all sizes, baby wipes, and new layette items for these young mothers.

Share the joy of Motherhood and thank you for your continued generosity and support.

MAY BAPTISM CLASS IS MAY 24th

May's Baptism Class will be held on Monday, May 24th at 7:30 - 8:30 pm in the Lower Church Hall.

Parents are required to attend this class.

Resurrection students continue to put their Faith Into Action. Here our 8th graders are providing donations for "United For The Troops," a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to our deployed US military troops around the world. Their mission -‘Bringing a little comfort to our troops.’

We have a special and caring community here at RES, with students who Give Back. Well done!

BOOK CLUB

All are invited to discuss our next book by phone conference 05/20/21 Thursday evening 7:30 PM.The book is: “Mary’s Voice In The Gospel According to John: A New Translation With Commentary” by Michael Pakaluk 2021 Regnery Publishing 256 pages.

It’s a phone call, not a zoom meeting. The phone is (385) 318-8463.People are responsible to get their own book. Good news, Rye Library has the E-book and a hard copy book.
