COLUMBUS DAY PRAYER
This is a good day to give thanks to God for our blessings and for our freedom in America.
Let us pray together to give thanks for our freedom, our liberties, and for those willing to protect that for us.
Let us remember those who flee their homes to live in lands where they can have what we have.
May those who take on the task like Columbus to find a “New World” be protected and guided.
Resurrection Annual Outreach Collection
will be THIS WEEKEND October 9th - 10th
THIS WEEKEND October 9thand 10th, please contribute to the annual Resurrection Outreach collection to support the poor, hungry, and needy in our local communities. The on-going impact of COVID and the recent flooding associated with Ida has dramatically increased the need in our area.
Resurrection Outreach has given nearly $1M to support the needy in our midst. Thank you for your continuing support of this vital cause!

Our Parish will host the famed Notre Dame Glee Club on Tuesday, October 19th at 7 pm in our Church. It will be an inspiring evening of music, song, and prayer. Tickets are SOLD OUT.

Port Chester.
All proceeds support meals for local hungry, Ida flood victims, and funding for a community-wide Thanksgiving Meal distribution.
Prizes, free delicious pizza, drinks, and music at The Colony Grill finish line. Fun!
Helping Hands for the Homeless and Hungry, Inc (Rye) is pleased to donate 45 backpacks filled with supplies to the children of St. Vito’s who lost everything to Ida.
A miracle, lucky, the Holy Spirit must be at work, because we never have Backpacks left over. They are all allocated and distributed every August.
BLESSING OF ANIMALS

Many parishioners presented their animals and pets for a special blessing last Sunday in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi on the steps of the church.
In the OT Book of Proverbs 12:10, we read “The Righteous Care for the Needs of their Animals.”

Today's Gospel
Gospel: Mark 10:17-30
A man asks Jesus how he can share in everlasting life. Jesus tells him to sell his possessions and travel with them. The man refuses and Jesus tells His disciples how difficult it is for a rich person to enter heaven if they are too concerned with their possessions. The disciples remind Jesus that they gave up everything for Him, but he assures them they will be rewarded with everlasting life.
