CHILDREN'S CHOIR TO RESUME
After almost two years of being silenced due to covid-19, The children's choir will resume once again on Thursday, October 21st. Our children's choir is open for ALL children of the parish and they sing at the 8:45 am Sunday Mass twice a month!
Any child in grades 2nd - 8th is welcomed to join! Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm in the grammar school music room. If you are interested in having your child sing with this group please email Mr. Viserta at jviserta@resmusic.org.
Dear Parishioners,
After what seemed like a long hiatus, the POTS Thanksgiving luncheon will be happening this year at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx! With COVID and the Delta variant still very much in existence, both volunteers and guests will need to show proof of vaccination. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any volunteers under the age of 12.
Since we will be serving far more guests hotboxed meals instead of sit-down meals this year we will encourage our turkey donors (if they feel comfortable) to slice their turkeys at home and bring the meat for drop off at the front of Resurrection on Thanksgiving morning between the hours of 8 am and 12 pm. If you don’t feel comfortable carving your turkey, NO WORRIES! Please drop it off tightly wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in a leak-proof bag.
I am also happy to announce that the new owner of Chrisfield’s Prime Meats in Rye has offered to roast extremely large turkey breasts (over 20 lbs.) for those parishioners who would like to donate a turkey but simply do not have the time or refrigerator space to do so. They are presently taking orders and can be reached at: (914) 967-0152

Our Parish will host the famed Notre Dame Glee Club on Tuesday, October 19th at 7 pm in our Church. It will be an inspiring evening of music, song, and prayer. Tickets are SOLD OUT.

Gospel: Mark 10:35-45
Two of the disciples ask Jesus that they be allowed to sit at his right and left side when he comes into his glory. Jesus explains that they should not be concerned with their position. Instead they should concern themselves with serving others just as Jesus was planning to serve many in giving his own life for their sins.
