Some Parishioners and Staff recently reported receiving an "urgent" email that appeared to be from Monsignor Dwyer with a statement similar to "I Need Assistance From You, Email Me As Soon As You Get This Message".
This is a typical "phishing" email. Phishing emails are used by cyber criminals to attempt to trick individuals by creating and sending fake emails that appear to be from an authentic source. Such emails are usually poorly written and designed to make you feel a sense of urgency.
If you engage with the sender, they may ask you to confirm personal information, open a malicious attachment that infects your computer, or purchase gift cards or perform other financial transactions on their behalf. Do not reply or click any links if you have reason to suspect the email is not legitimate.
Even if you think there’s a possibility that an email from Resurrection is genuine, you should Contact the Rectory directly and ask to confirm – do not use any communication method provided in the email.

THANKSGIVING MASSES
Thanksgiving Day is on Thursday, November 25th. The Mass schedule is 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Mass on Thanksgiving. The Church will be open to Parishioners from 7:30 am to 1 pm for private prayer. Parishioners and families are encouraged to attend Mass and start the day off with the Eucharist.
ALLELUIA! IT'S ALMOST THANKSGIVING
Don’t tell anybody, but next Thursday is my favorite holiday. Sure, I love Christmas, but, for us priests, that’s a hectic time. I haven’t been with my family for Christmas in a long time.
Maybe I’m embarrassed to admit that Thanksgiving is at the top of my list of favorite holidays because, technically, it’s not a Church feast day.
But, wait a minute! Anytime we stop to praise God for His lavish blessings, well, that’s not only a holiday but a holy day!
These days, in the midst of all our woes, I hear folks express gratitude to God, and to God’s agents, the brave souls that got us through the horror of Covid.
A lot of times, we only recognize God’s presence in the rear-view mirror. A year–and–a–half ago, we were all tempted to doubt God’s providence, wondering where He was in all the fear, death, and isolation of Covid. Like Pope Francis observed, it was as if Jesus was asleep in the back of that sinking boat in the middle of a storm.
Now we look back and whisper, “He got us through! He was there! Life continues! The winds and the waves have subsided.”
The best way to thank God is at Sunday Mass. We’re still not back to our full, pre-Covid capacity. We priests are asking, “Where are they? Why aren’t they back thanking God? Are they like the nine lepers who were healed by Jesus yet went their merry way without praising the Lord, or will they be like the one who returned?”
The very word Eucharist means thanksgiving! At every Mass, we unite with God’s only son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as He offers Himself to His Father on the cross. This is a “thank you letter” to God our Father that is always received, always opened, never sent back.
Let this Thursday be about more than pumpkin pie, turkey and dressing. Hey, I enjoy all that as much as the next guy. But...
Let it be about praising God, and let it continue every Sunday at Mass.

UPDATES ON SR. DANIELLE AND FR. MORTY

2. Fr. Morty O’Shea from Cork, Ireland has been helping in our parish since September. He is presently a patient at Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital and New York City. He successfully completed the first phase of his stem cell transplant procedure. This week he is undergoing chemotherapy. Then he will receive new stem cells. For the next month, he will be recuperating at the hospital. His prognosis is good and his doctors are hopeful. Fr. Morty sends his regards.

We need VOLUNTEERS after 10:30 am on Thanksgiving Day. Please consider a DONATION to subsidize the Thanksgiving Luncheon.
Volunteers and guests will need to show proof of vaccination. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any volunteers under the age of 12.
Since we will be serving far more guests hotboxed meals instead of sit-down meals this year we will encourage our turkey donors (if they feel comfortable) to slice their turkeys at home and bring the meat for drop off at the front of Resurrection on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving between the hours of 8 am and 12 pm. If you don’t feel comfortable carving your turkey, NO WORRIES! Please drop it off tightly wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in a leak-proof bag.

ANNUAL KICK-OFF MASS TODAY
The Annual Kick-Off Mass to start the basketball season will be held TODAY Sunday, November 21, 2021, at
8:45 AM Mass for Grades 3 - 4 - 5.
11:15 AM Mass for Grades 6 - 7 - 8.
Refreshments will be served in the lower church hall after each mass.
FEAST OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
Wednesday, December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation.
Masses are :
Tuesday, December 7th Vigil Mass at: 5 pm
Wednesday, December 8th at: 8 am, 9 am, and 10 am (School Mass) and 5 pm.

CAR RAFFLE
A seminarian from St. Josephs Seminary was in our parish last Sunday to sell chances for a car raffle. The response was gratifying.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
Please join us for the Annual Lighting of the Resurrection Christmas Trees on Saturday, December 4th following the 5:00 pm Mass. There will be a Christmas sing-along, as well as a special visitor from the North Pole.
All are welcome, especially young families!
RYE MISTLETOE MAGIC
The Annual Rye Family festival on Purchase Street will be held on Sunday, November 28th from 12 noon to 3 pm. There will be horse-drawn carriages, trains, Christmas Crafts, music, food, and fun.
OUR SUNDAY VISITOR
There are complimentary copies of the Catholic newspaper, “Our Sunday Visitor” in the Main Lobby and at the back doors of the church (facing parking lot) in the pamphlet rack.
Please support Catholic periodicals and take a copy home.
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
The Christmas Giving Tree is located at St. Josephs’ Altar of the church and is beautifully decorated with hand-made ornaments. (Tree goes up November 27th). Please take an ornament (or two) and return a Christmas gift for a needy boy or girl. Gifts should be unwrapped with the ornament securely taped to the package.
Respect Life gifts of diapers, baby presents and blankets are also needed. Drop off Gift Cards to the rectory Mon- Fri 9 am - 4 pm. Do Not Leave Gift Cards in Church. Gifts can be placed under the tree now until December 22nd.
