RESURRECTION SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
Every June our parish awards $2000. Scholarship to a deserving High School Graduate from our parish community.
It is awarded to a young person who puts their faith into practice and is an exemplary role model who has excelled in academics and athletics.
This year we have designated Michael Lavelle,18, as the 2022 Resurrection scholarship recipient.
Michael volunteered this past year as a sixth-grade CCD teacher on Sunday mornings. He attended PREP classes here and is a long-time parishioner of Resurrection.
He played football, lacrosse, and squash at Rye high school. This fine young man of many talents will be attending Villanova University in the fall.
Last Wednesday, Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan personally congratulated Michael on his award from Resurrection parish. We wish Michael God’s choicest blessings in all his future endeavors.
Having a Mass said for a loved one at Resurrection Church is a noble and ideal way to honor a deceased person. There is a beautiful tradition in the Catholic Church of offering Mass for the soul of a family member or friend. The name of the deceased is announced by the priest and published in our Sunday bulletin.
The 2023 Mass Intentions Book at Resurrection will be open for requests starting Wednesday, June 16th. There will be a limit of seven masses per family and two names per Mass.
The weekday Mass offering is $20.00 per Mass and the weekend Masses offering is $25.00 per Mass.
We will be using a new online system that will allow you to view and select available Mass times and make the offering payment by credit card.
The link to the new system will be sent on Wednesday, June 15th at 12 noon and added to the Church website.
PREP Registration for 2022/23 IS OPEN
Please see our website www.ryeprep.org for more information on class days/times and fee schedules. Places in each class are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who complete the registration process first will have the widest choice of days and times.
Our volunteer catechists and co-catechists are the heart and soul of our program. Please consider sharing your faith with the youth of our Parish. Tuition discounts apply.
In addition, if you are aware of parishioners that have children entering Grade 1 next year and who currently do not have children attending the PREP program, please let them know that registration will be opening next week.

Opening Your Heart explores the fundamental questions of our Catholic faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ. We'll dig into topics like prayer, reading the Bible, the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and what we're supposed to do with suffering that feels senseless. As we're wrestling with our questions through the study, we'll be challenged to open our hearts to the only One who can bring the healing and transformation we so desire.
Classes will begin in the fall on either Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
SPECIAL FATHER’S DAY COLLECTION
In honor of Father’s Day, the Outreach Committee will once again be taking up a collection for the Men’s Shower Program at POTS. The Shower Program seeks to provide hundreds of men with personal shower toiletries, a clean pair of socks, underwear and a change of clothing.
The following items are needed:
Clothing:
- New Underwear (Large & XL are best)
- New T-Shirts (Large and XL are best)
- Toiletries (all sizes welcome, though hotel sizes are best for the shower program)
- White Bath Towels (New or Like New)
- Basketball/Athletic Shorts (New or Like New/Sizes M, L, XL)
Toiletries-trial size preferred:
Deodorant, soap, hand lotion, aftershave, cologne, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, mouthwash, baby powder, and razors.
Please bring your donation to any of the masses between now and Sunday, June 19th, and leave donations in St Josephs Chapel at the front of the church.

Jesus appeared to the disciples even though they had locked the doors in fear. Jesus then showed the disciples his hands and his side; and they rejoiced at his presence.
He breathed on them saying "Receive the Holy Spirit." He then gave the disciples the power to forgive others or hold them accountable for their sins.

Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Envelopes
In observance of Father's Day- Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Envelopes are available at the entrances of the Church.
Summer 2022 High School Boys Basketball
Resurrection will be hosting a 10-game High School Boy's Basketball League this summer. Registration is open to any teenage boy entering 9th thru 12th grades for 2022/2023. Freshman, JV, and Varsity High School players are eligible to join.
Season Dates: June 28th - August 2nd, 2022 no games on July 5th
Playoffs: August 4th, 2022
Times: Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 and 9 pm.
Location: Resurrection Middle School air-conditioned Doty Gym.
Details: Games will have four 8-minute quarters and two referees. Every player is guaranteed to play at least two quarters. Teams will be evenly divided according to age, grade, height, and ability. Please do not ask to be placed on a team with a friend. (Brothers, however, can play on the same team). There will be volunteer coaches who will make substitutions. Each player receives a Team jersey.
Registration: Registration opens on June 1, 2022, and will be first-come, first-served. To register, please click on the link below. The cost is $100 per player and $150 for 2 or more siblings.
VOCATION CHALICE MINISTRY

This ministry encourages families to pray and promote vocation to the priesthood and religious life! Individuals or families will pick up the Chalice at Mass, keep it for two weeks then return it for the next family to enjoy.
