HOLY WATER RETURNS
When the covid pandemic began on Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Holy Water Fonts in the church were removed for safety and caution.
We are happy to announce that the Holy Water Fonts at the 7 doors of the church have returned! Today is the feast of the Most Holy Trinity.
A beautiful custom in the Catholic Church is dipping your hand in one of the holy water fonts and making the sign of the cross in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit amen-as you enter the church or leave the church.
We encourage all people, young and old, to start using the holy water fonts again.
Also, it is a great teaching tool for parents to teach the children to make the sign of the cross and remind them of the life-giving waters of their baptism.
CONFIRMATION 2022
Last Sunday, June 5th there were two beautiful Masses for about 120 children from our Parish who received The Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation.
Bishop Edmund Whalen was the celebrant. He was a young associate here in the mid 1980's.
Congratulations to young people, teachers, parents, and families!
CHURCH ROOF REPAIR
For the next few days, there will be minor interruptions inside of the church because we are repairing the church roof. Please use caution and observe closed-off areas.

EXTRA OFFERING ENVELOPE TODAY
Having a Mass said for a loved one at Resurrection Church is a noble and ideal way to honor a deceased person. There is a beautiful tradition in the Catholic Church of offering Mass for the soul of a family member or friend. The name of the deceased is announced by the priest and published in our Sunday bulletin.
The 2023 Mass Intentions Book at Resurrection will be open for requests starting Wednesday, June 16th. There will be a limit of seven masses per family and two names per Mass.
The weekday Mass offering is $20.00 per Mass and the weekend Masses offering is $25.00 per Mass.
We will be using a new online system that will allow you to view and select available Mass times and make the offering payment by credit card.
The link to the new system will be sent on Wednesday, June 15th at 12 noon and added to the Church website.
FALL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND THE MUSIC MINISTRY NEEDS YOU!
Before covid hit us in 2019 the RES music ministry had 12 in the adult choir and 32 in the children's choir. Unfortunately, as with many things, Covid has really affected our membership and we only had 4 people in the adult choir and 7 in the children's choir this year. I want to thank each of those choir members for their continued support. The GOOD NEWS is that we now have PLENTY of room FOR YOU to join our groups in the fall!
I am looking for singers of all ages. We especially need men, both Tenors, and Basses. Don't sing? Well don't worry, I am looking for instrumentalists too! Does someone in your family play the violin, flute, guitar, oboe, drums, or Clarinet? We have a place for them too!
There is a possibility if we get the interest and commitment from enough who are interested, that we may be starting an adult handbell choir as well! What's that? You don't know what a handbell choir is? Stay tuned for more information on the possibility of this fun and exciting group!
Over the next few months, please take the time to think and pray about how you can share your time and talent with the music ministry this fall!
PREP Registration for 2022/23 IS OPEN
Please see our website www.ryeprep.org for more information on class days/times and fee schedules. Places in each class are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who complete the registration process first will have the widest choice of days and times.
Our volunteer catechists and co-catechists are the heart and soul of our program. Please consider sharing your faith with the youth of our Parish. Tuition discounts apply.
In addition, if you are aware of parishioners that have children entering Grade 1 next year and who currently do not have children attending the PREP program, please let them know that registration will be opening next week.
TRINITY SUNDAY
Gospel: John 16:12-15
Jesus tells the disciples that when he leaves them, a Spirit will help guide them to the truth. This Spirit will announce what he hears from Jesus, rather than speaking on his own.
Everything God has also belongs to Jesus, which is why those things announced by the Spirit will actually come from Jesus.

Opening Your Heart explores the fundamental questions of our Catholic faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ. We'll dig into topics like prayer, reading the Bible, the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and what we're supposed to do with suffering that feels senseless. As we're wrestling with our questions through the study, we'll be challenged to open our hearts to the only One who can bring the healing and transformation we so desire.
Classes will begin in the fall on either Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
SPECIAL FATHER’S DAY COLLECTION
In honor of Father’s Day, the Outreach Committee will once again be taking up a collection for the Men’s Shower Program at POTS. The Shower Program seeks to provide hundreds of men with personal shower toiletries, a clean pair of socks, underwear and a change of clothing.
The following items are needed:
Clothing:
- New Underwear (Large & XL are best)
- New T-Shirts (Large and XL are best)
- Toiletries (all sizes welcome, though hotel sizes are best for the shower program)
- White Bath Towels (New or Like New)
- Basketball/Athletic Shorts (New or Like New/Sizes M, L, XL)
Toiletries-trial size preferred:
Deodorant, soap, hand lotion, aftershave, cologne, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, mouthwash, baby powder, and razors.
Please bring your donation to any of the masses between now and Sunday, June 19th, and leave donations in St Josephs Chapel at the front of the church.

Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Envelopes
In observance of Father's Day- Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Envelopes are available at the entrances of the Church.
Summer 2022 High School Boys Basketball
Resurrection will be hosting a 10-game High School Boy's Basketball League this summer. Registration is open to any teenage boy entering 9th thru 12th grades for 2022/2023. Freshman, JV, and Varsity High School players are eligible to join.
Season Dates: June 28th - August 2nd, 2022 no games on July 5th
Playoffs: August 4th, 2022
Times: Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 and 9 pm.
Location: Resurrection Middle School air-conditioned Doty Gym.
Details: Games will have four 8-minute quarters and two referees. Every player is guaranteed to play at least two quarters. Teams will be evenly divided according to age, grade, height, and ability. Please do not ask to be placed on a team with a friend. (Brothers, however, can play on the same team). There will be volunteer coaches who will make substitutions. Each player receives a Team jersey.
Registration: Registration opens on June 1, 2022, and will be first-come, first-served. To register, please click on the link below. The cost is $100 per player and $150 for 2 or more siblings.
