Having a Mass said for a loved one at Resurrection Church is a noble and ideal way to honor a deceased person. There is a beautiful tradition in the Catholic Church of offering Mass for the soul of a family member or friend. The name of the deceased is announced by the priest and published in our Sunday bulletin.
The 2023 Mass Intentions Book at Resurrection IS OPEN. There will be a limit of seven masses per family and two names per Mass.
The weekday Mass offering is $20.00 per Mass and the weekend Masses offering is $25.00 per Mass.
We will be using a new online system that will allow you to view and select available Mass times and make the offering payment by credit card.
There will only be one collection today. The second envelope is the annual Black and Indian Mission Office in the U.S.
PREP Registration for 2022/23 IS OPEN
Please see our website www.ryeprep.org for more information on class days/times and fee schedules. Places in each class are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who complete the registration process first will have the widest choice of days and times.
Our volunteer catechists and co-catechists are the heart and soul of our program. Please consider sharing your faith with the youth of our Parish. Tuition discounts apply.
In addition, if you are aware of parishioners that have children entering Grade 1 next year and who currently do not have children attending the PREP program, please let them know that registration will be opening next week.
CATECHISTS NEEDED FOR CLASSES 2022-23
The Parish Religious Education Program is looking for catechists for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. Being a catechist is a rewarding faith enriching experience. Please consider joining our team! Classes are once a week, beginning in September, and run until mid-May. Please contact Mary Humphrey at mhumphrey@respreprye.org if you are interested and would like more information.
Today's Gospel
Gospel: Luke 10:25-37
While discussing everlasting life, a lawyer mentions loving one's neighbor as oneself. The lawyer then asks Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus tells him about a man beaten by robbers, who was ignored by both a priest and a Levite before a Samaritan stopped and offered him aid.
Jesus asks the lawyer who was neighbor to the injured man. The lawyer says "the one who treated him with compassion." Jesus encourages him to go and do the same.

Resurrection DOTY Gym
Come develop your basketball skills at camp this summer! All participants will learn the fundamentals of the game, skill development, and character development in a fun and exciting way!
The camp will include coaching by Marty Durkin, stations for each age group focusing on basketball-specific skills, and competitions where participants can practice these skills in an enjoyable and exhilarating fashion!
$320.00 for the week, two siblings will be $600.00.
CHURCH AIR CONDITIONING
The “good old summertime” has arrived. During the summer months, the Church air conditioning will be on most days.
- The Church AC is uneven. Some areas of the Church are cooler than other areas. The front few pews on the right side and parts of Our Lady Chapel and rear of the Church are cooler.
- We recommend that parishioners bring a light jacket or sweater if you feel it is too cool in Church.
- If the AC bothers you, we recommend sitting in the middle of the Church where it is not so cool.
- We try to accommodate our people. Some complain that it’s too cool and some complain it’s too warm. We try to be reasonable and sensible. We apologize if you feel uncomfortable.
