“We pray for the soul of Pope Benedict XVI who died peacefully on December 31, 2022.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him, may his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.
Amen.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, released the following statement today after learning of the passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
“The human family grieves the passing of this erudite, wise, and holy man, who spoke the truth with love;
The family of the Church especially mourns his death, while grateful for the gift he was of a good shepherd and Holy Father;
This archdiocese remembers with love his pastoral visit here in 2008;
I personally sense the loss as he was so encouraging, and appointed me Archbishop of New York and nominated me a Cardinal.
Faith and reason, the legacy of Pope Benedict XVI, whom we remember with reverence, love and gratitude.
I ask every parish in the archdiocese to offer a Mass for the Good Lord’s mercy upon his gracious soul, and in thanksgiving for his vocation as Successor of St. Peter.
May the angels lead him into paradise!”

3. THE MANDATE TO WEAR MASKS IN CHURCH IS LIFTED.
4. The Live Streaming Masses will be on Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday at 10:00 am.
The recorded Masses can be watched anytime. So, if you miss Mass at Resurrection and you'd like to listen to the homily, the 5 pm, and 10 am Masses are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 3 months.

Today's Gospel
Luke 2:16-21
The shepherds went to Bethlehem to see Jesus and immediately understood all that they had been told about him. They praised God for what they had seen, and Jesus was given the name that the angel had chosen for him.
The POTS Leadership Committee would like to thank everyone who donated food or paper goods to support this year's Christmas Luncheon. Thanks to all of you, we had more than enough food to serve over 550 meals to our VERY appreciative guests! Thank you, and we hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you to everyone for the generous donation of gifts for the giving tree. We were able to collect approximately 850 GIFTS at St Josephs's Altar for children in need.
Gifts were distributed to several organizations including Don Bosco parish outreach, and Cardinal McClosky.

HELP CATHOLICS COME HOME
Do you know someone who was baptized Catholic but has stopped attending Mass, is questioning the faith, or hasn’t found a parish home? Why not help your friend to come home? Perhaps you can act as a resource or offer to attend Mass together.
If you aren’t sure how to help, ask our priests for advice.
