The recorded Masses can be watched anytime. For example, if you miss Mass at Resurrection and you'd like to listen to the homily, the 5 pm, and 10 am Masses are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 3 months.

Opening Your Heart explores the fundamental questions of our Catholic faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ. We'll dig into such topics as prayer, conquering our fears, and what we're supposed to do with suffering that feels senseless. As we're wrestling with our questions through the study, we'll be challenged to open our hearts to the only One who can bring the healing and transformation we so desire.
Classes will begin in the fall on either Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings.

The Scholastic Book Fair is finally here !
Join us after any mass on Sunday for our annual Scholastic book fair located across the parking lot in the Grammar School Lower Gym.
All are welcome. It is always a fun, family event and a wonderful way to spend some time after mass. Coffee and donuts will be served.
And please know that a portion of all sales will go back directly to benefit the school.
We hope to see you there!
The Eighth-Grade class from Resurrection School will NOT be conducting the Annual Midnight Run Appeal this weekend, September 16th and September 17th. They will let us know when they will reschedule.

Jesus Is Calling….Will you Answer?
As announced last week our Adult choir which sings at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Liturgy is in desperate need of members. We especially need Basses, Tenors, and true sopranos. I know you are busy and have hectic schedules, but ask yourself, If you wait until the spring or next fall for your schedule to be a little less hectic, will you really be less busy? Chances are, the answer is no. I encourage you to join us even if you already too busy. Those things that you actually thought were stopping you from joining will be there when choir is over. Infact, many choir members use choir as a time to unwind, a time to recharge, a time for prayer, and a time for socialization, sometimes too much socialization! Trust me, the gratification and peace you get from singing will be worth it! The adult choir will begin rehearsals on Thursday, September 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the choir room located in the PREP building next to the church.
This week we are featuring our Children’s Choir. The children’s choir has grown from just four members in 2011 to over thirty children in 2019. Of course, Covid put a damper on our enrollment for a few years but last year we were back to 19 choristers. Will this year bring us back to or close to thirty again? Let’s hope! The children’s choir sings every other week at the 8:45 a.m. Children’s’Family Liturgy.
The rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the grammar school music room. Children need to be in grades 2-6. There is also an opportunity for those children who are in grade 1 and are strong readers to join the group in the spring. Children from RES school, PREP, and the entire parish are welcome and encouraged to participate. If your child loves singing in their school chorus then this is the group for them! The children will begin rehearsals on Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m.

Dear Friends in the Lord,
When you love someone, you want to be with them as much as possible. Our Lord loves us so much that He chooses to remain with us in the Holy Eucharist. Our nation is in the midst of a Eucharistic Revival, for the sole purpose of strengthening our faith in this gift of love – Jesus present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
As part of this revival, the Church in the State of New York will gather on October 20 – 22, 2023 at Our Lady of the Martyrs Shrine, located in Auriesville, New York, for a Eucharistic Congress. I encourage all in the Archdiocese of New York to attend the Congress, especially on Saturday, October 21st, which will feature a special Mass at 11 a.m. celebrated by Bishop Terry LaValley, followed by a Eucharistic Procession in the afternoon. In addition, there will be engaging speakers, lively music, opportunities for confession and eucharistic adoration, time to socialize, food available (although feel free to bring your own picnic), and so much more!

Today's Gospel
Matthew 18:21-35
This narrative points out the difference between mercy and justice. When Peter asks how often he should forgive someone who wrongs him, Jesus answers, “…not seven times: I say seventy times seven times.” Jesus then narrates the story of the king who was merciful to his official by forgiving him all his debts, but this same official showed no mercy to his own servant.
