POPE LEO XIV

As we welcome our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, we celebrate a moment that marks a new chapter in the Church's life and breathes new life into the hearts.

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, 2025, the election of the Holy Father is more than a historical milestone—it is a living sign of God’s continued presence among us. It offers a tangible encounter with our faith's beauty, tradition, and way of life. It reminds us that the Church is alive, dynamic, and led by the Spirit who calls us to mission and holiness.

As Catholics, we embrace the Holy Father with love, respect, and faithful obedience, recognizing in him the visible sign of Christ’s guidance for the Church on earth.

Let us pray that our new Holy Father will inspire a new generation of believers. Let us continue to form all people who are ready to lead with faith, serve with compassion, and live as joyful witnesses to Christ.

We entrust Pope Leo XIV to the maternal care of Our Lady, and we ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with renewed zeal for the Gospel.

A novena of Masses will be celebrated for the names submitted. Please list the names of Mothers on the top front of the envelopes, which can be found in the back of the Church. The suggested donation is $25.

It is important to remember and honor our Mothers at Mass.

The statue of Saint Theresa of Avila will be dedicated on Sunday, May 11th, at 11:15 a.m., in honor of our beloved Sister Danielle Baran.

Please join us as we remember this wonderful woman who guided so many of us to her beloved JC.

STREET CLOSINGS MAY 18TH

The city of Rye Police Department would like to make the public aware of an upcoming event that will impact vehicular traffic.

Next Sunday, May 18th, the SoulRYEders Half Marathon and 5K foot race will be held from 7:30 AM to 11 AM. Prior to and during the race, multiple roadways will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The race will begin and finish at Rye Playland, and utilize Playland Parkway, Midland Avenue, Grace Church Street, Forest Avenue, Van Wagenen Avenue, and Stuyvesant Avenue.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CERTIFICATE MASS

IS SUNDAY, MAY 18th AT 10:00 am

Students who received their First Holy Communion this May will be celebrated at the First Holy Communion Certificate Mass at 10:00 am on Sunday, May 18th.

Certificates will be distributed after Mass and refreshments will be served in the Lower Church Hall.

We look forward to seeing everyone in their First Holy Communion attire once again!

Dear Parishioners of Resurrection Church,

As we begin to look ahead to the seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we are reaching out with an opportunity to serve and make a meaningful impact in our community.

We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to join the POTS Leadership Committee—the team that oversees the planning and coordination of our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas luncheons to feed the homeless and hungry in the Bronx. These cherished events are a vital part of our outreach, offering food, fellowship, and the warmth of the holiday spirit to those in need.

Committee members help with organizing logistics, coordinating volunteers, obtaining food donations, and ensuring each luncheon runs smoothly and joyfully. Whether you have volunteered at a luncheon in the past and are looking for a role with greater responsibilities, or are simply looking for a new way to give back, we would be blessed to have your help.
