The recorded Masses can be viewed at any time. For example, if you miss Mass at Resurrection and want to listen to the Homily, the 5 pm and 10 am Masses are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 3 months.
FEAST OF ASSUMPTION
The Feast of the Assumption is on Friday, August 15th. It is a Holy Day of Obligation.

Dear Friends of the Archdiocese of New York,
Peace be with you in these summer months! I hope it is a time of rest and relaxation. I am pleased to extend a warm invitation to you to watch the recording of our recent event, "Between Two Popes: Reflections on the Conclave," held at the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Center on June 18th.
This special gathering featured a distinguished panel, including Bishop Edmund Whalen, Martha MacCallum, Lino Rulli, and Joe Zwilling who joined me as I shared insights and reflections on the recent papal conclave, election of Pope Leo XIV and what it means for our Church today.
The recording has been made available on the Sheen Center’s website. I encourage each of you to take some time to view this inspiring discussion. Please feel free to share this invitation with friends and family.
I hope this can inspire us all as we continue to walk in faith. Let us continue to pray for our beloved Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV!

PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
Religious education classes will begin on the following days:
Sunday, September 14th, 9:45 am - 11:00 am grades 1-8
Tuesday, September 16th, 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm grades 1-6
Evening classes for grades 6 - 8, 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Wednesday, September 17th, 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm grades 1-8
This is the last call to register for the 2025-2026 school year. Returning families should check their emails for a link to register from Parish Giving.
New families should go to the Resurrection Parish website and click on the following link this https://resrye.org/prep-registration to find registration information
Students must attend all grades to be eligible for Confirmation in grade 8.
Catechists are still needed for several grades. Please consider volunteering! Sharing your faith with the children of Resurrection Parish is a Faith Enriching experience.

HELP WANTED/PART-TIME
Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass for Adult Choir
QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to carry light notes across the sanctuary. Able to breathe in a normal manner.Have sung “Happy Birthday" at least once in your life.
EXPERIENCE:
No applications accepted from persons who have not sung, whistled or hummed in the shower at some time.
BEGINNING WAGES:
Guaranteed satisfaction and joy in the service of the Lord. HOURS: Thursday's 7 pm to 8:30 pm & Sunday's 9 am to 10:45 am
WEATHER: If the weather is bad and you can’t come, you are forgiven by the director. He won’t be there as well.
BENEFITS:
HEALTH: All that extra breathing is good for you!
SOCIAL SECURITY: We promise you the security of fellowship with other fine members of the choir.
LONG TERM: You can stay forever if you wish.
RETIREMENT: Generally determined when printed notes get too small or notes are too high, the organist is unable to play the notes you sing, or the director can’t play the notes that you are trying to sing.
Come give the Adult Choir a try! We have a great time! Our first rehearsal will be on Sept 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the choir room located on the first floor of the PREP building.

Mark your calendars that Middle School gym is closed for needed painting until August 22nd.
It will reopen for Resurrection Summer Camp August 25th to August 29th.

Do you long to get your priorities in order?
Have you been going through the motions in your spiritual life but wonder how it all relates to your day-to-day life?
Do you want to know Christ in a personal way?
Opening Your Heart explores the fundamental questions of our Catholic faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ. We'll dig into topics like prayer, reading the Bible, the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and what we're supposed to do with suffering that feels senseless. As we're wrestling with our questions through the study, we'll be challenged to open our hearts to the only One who can bring the healing and transformation we so desire.
Touching The Divine explores the Gospel of John and how the more you get to know Jesus the more your love for Him will grow- and the more you will learn of His love for you. As your relationship deepens so will your faith, your trust, and your understanding of what it means to be God's beloved daughter.
Classes will begin on September 30th on Tuesday mornings 9:00 am - 10:30 am or Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

Jesus encourages us to be prepared for his return at all times, for he will come when we least expect him. He tells of a master who entrusts his home to his servants, and fully expects them to be awaiting his return. In the same manner, Jesus can arrive at any moment and expects us to be prepared for his return.
