November 8, 2020 - Sunday Bulletin Resurrection Church
Sunday, November 8, 2020 Resurrection Church Bulletin
Our parish will be Hosting a Mass on
December 5th at 5pm
for couples who celebrated their 50
Wedding Anniversaries in 2020.
Any couple celebrating their 50
Wedding Anniversary (1970) or 25
Wedding Anniversary (1995) in 2020 is most welcome. There will be a renewal of vows and a special Blessing during Mass.
All honorees, parishioners & guests are invited to the Mass.
Jubilarian couples are asked to register at 967-0142 by November 29th.
Unfortunately we cannot conduct the reception afterwards.
In the parable of the five sensible bridesmaids and the five foolish bridesmaids, Jesus emphasizes the fact that we must always be ready for the coming of Christ because in his words, “You know not the day or the hour.”
POTS is in need of FOOD and VOLUNTEERS!
The POTS team is happy to inform the parish that the Thanksgiving luncheon
take place this year albeit significantly different from years past.
Because of Social Distancing Guidelines, this year’s luncheon will take place at POTS on Webster Avenue in the Bronx and not at Our Lady of Refuge Church.
We will also
be distributing hotboxed meals. There will be
sit -down lunch service. This is to protect the health of both the guest and the volunteer.
of the volunteers on Thanksgiving Day
be 18 years or older.
Volunteers to help load the truck the day before Thanksgiving may be a minimum of 13 years old but
be accompanied by a parent.
We apologize for the change in format and the many rules that we must adhere to, but these are unprecedented times that require our cooperation and flexibility.
POTS has informed us that the needs are still tremendous, so
sign up to donate one of the many food items that we will need to ensure that each guest receives a hot and nutritious Thanksgiving meal.

Come Holy Spirit
On November 1st and 8th, Bishop Gerald T. Walsh, Auxiliary Bishop of New York
came to Resurrection to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation for
160 students from our parish.
Confirmation was postponed from the spring because of the COVID-19 crisis.
We congratulate and commend the Confirmation class, parents, sponsors
and families for their cooperation hard work, dedication and support.
They performed outstanding service hours and successfully completed an online virtual comprehensive exam.
It was a beautiful and lovely celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit
to our teenagers who now more than ever need the Holy Spirit to guide
them during their high school years of adolescence.
